The Mövenpick Bintan Lagoon Resort will open in 2023 in Indonesia
Accor has signed a management agreement with PT Bintan Lagoon Resort, a subsidiary of PT Edika Agung Mandiri, to launch the Mövenpick Bintan Lagoon Resort. Scheduled to open in 2023, the resort will become the first Mövenpick property in Bintan while adding 413 rooms to the brand’s portfolio in the region.
Known to many as a much-loved vacation destination, Bintan offers scenic tropical landscapes, cultural trails, culinary wonders and thrilling land-to-sea activities. The Mövenpick Bintan Lagoon Resort will occupy a long private white sand beach in the northern region of the island. The beachfront resort is easily accessible via an hour’s ferry ride from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal or an hour’s drive from Bintan’s Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport.
“We are proud to continue our growth momentum in Indonesia with the signing of Mövenpick Bintan Lagoon Resort. With its golden beaches, idyllic nature and exciting leisure activities, Bintan Island has long been a convenient paradise retreat away from the bustling cities. It is a perfect location for our Mövenpick brand, whose heartfelt service, attention to detail and fine dining will resonate well in this leisure venue. Mövenpick Bintan Lagoon Resort will become a destination within a destination and enhance vacation experience through its comprehensive facilities,” said Garth Simmons, Managing Director, Accor Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.
Overlooking the South China Sea, the resort will bring Swiss-inspired hospitality to Bintan to celebrate Mövenpick’s rich culinary heritage. The resort is poised to become the newest beach getaway destination for all generations with exceptional facilities including three lagoon pools, unique dining concepts, a two-story beach club, spacious event spaces and a ferry terminal. Wellness will also be an integral part of the resort experience, with an extensive wellness and leisure center that will include a gym, spa and kids’ club.
